Terms of Use

You must be 18 years of age or older to use the Site. By using the Site, you warrant that you have the right, authority, and capacity to enter into this Agreement.

To rent a vehicle from CM Rental Cars, the driver must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid driver's license. The license presented at pickup must match the information provided in the booking request and must not be expired.

Submitting a booking request through the Site does not constitute a confirmed reservation. All booking requests are subject to review and confirmation by our team. We will contact you using the information you provide to confirm your reservation, arrange payment, and finalize the rental agreement.

All rentals are subject to a minimum duration of 3 days. Requests for shorter periods will not be accepted.

All vehicle pickups and returns take place at our location: 1540 Claire Crescent, Montreal, Quebec H8S 4E6, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Vehicle pickups are available during our business hours, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, when a member of our team is present to complete the rental agreement and hand over the vehicle. Please select a pickup time within these hours when submitting your booking request.

Vehicle returns may be made at any time. If you return the vehicle outside of our business hours, you may park it at our location and deposit the keys in our secure drop box. The vehicle remains the renter's responsibility until it is returned, and the rental period is calculated up to the agreed return time.

CM Rental Cars reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking request at its sole discretion, including in cases of incomplete, inaccurate or fraudulent information.

Unless the unlimited kilometres option is selected, each rental includes an allowance of 150 kilometres per rental day. Kilometres driven beyond this allowance are charged at $0.10 per kilometre, payable at the end of the rental.

An unlimited kilometres option is available for an additional $19.99 per rental day, which must be selected at the time of booking. With this option, no charges apply for kilometres driven during the rental period.

At the time of booking, renters choose one of the following protection options. The selected option is confirmed and charged as part of the rental agreement signed at pickup.

CM Complete Protection ($34.99 per rental day): in the event of damage to or theft of the rental vehicle, the renter's financial responsibility is reduced to $0 (no deductible). This option includes tire and windshield coverage as well as roadside assistance. Repairs are performed in-house at our own CM Automobile shop.

Essential Damage Waiver ($24.99 per rental day): in the event of damage to or theft of the rental vehicle, the renter's financial responsibility is limited to a deductible of $500, plus applicable taxes.

Declined protection: renters who decline both options must present satisfactory proof of alternative coverage (such as credit card rental vehicle insurance or a personal automobile insurance policy that extends to rental vehicles) at the time of pickup. Without satisfactory proof, a protection plan must be purchased before the vehicle is released. Renters who decline protection remain fully responsible for any damage, theft or loss not covered by their own provider, including related fees such as loss of use.

Protection plans are contractual damage waivers between the renter and CM Rental Cars; they are not insurance policies. Third-party liability coverage required by Quebec law is included with every rental.

All protection plans are void in cases of prohibited use of the vehicle, including driving under the influence, gross negligence, unauthorized drivers, or use outside the conditions of the rental agreement.

Confirmed reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time.

For cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time, a fee equal to one day's rental (plus applicable taxes) applies.

If the renter does not appear at the scheduled pickup time (no-show), a fee equal to one day's rental (plus applicable taxes) applies and the reservation may be released.

To cancel or modify a reservation, contact us by phone or email using the contact information provided on the Site.

When submitting a booking request, you must provide accurate driver information, including the driver's full name, date of birth, driver's license number, place of issue and expiration date. The driver must present the same valid driver's license at the time of pickup.

Providing false or misleading information may result in cancellation of the booking without notice.

All information, text, material, graphics, files and software used on the Site (further referred to as 'Content') are protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark laws. Except as otherwise explicitly agreed to in writing, the Content received through the Site may be downloaded, displayed, reformatted and printed for your personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to reproduce, retransmit, distribute, sell, republish, frame, broadcast or circulate the Content received through the Site without CM Rental Cars' prior written consent.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including the CM Automobile dealership website. These linked websites are not under the control of CM Rental Cars beyond our own properties, and we are not responsible for the contents of any third-party website. The inclusion of a link on the Site does not imply any endorsement of the linked website.

The Site and its Content are provided 'as is', without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

CM Rental Cars does not warrant that your use of the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any defects will be corrected, or that the Site and its server are free from viruses or any other harmful components.

CM Rental Cars does not warrant any Content in terms of correctness, accuracy, timeliness, or completeness. Vehicle availability, pricing and specifications displayed on the Site are for information purposes and are subject to confirmation by our team.

To the extent permitted by law, CM Rental Cars disclaims liability to all persons in relation to any loss or damage suffered through their use of the Site. Under no circumstances will CM Rental Cars or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special and/or consequential damages or loss of profits which result from any use of, or any inability to use, the Site or any Content.

If CM Rental Cars suffers any loss or damage or incurs any costs in connection with any breach of this Agreement or any other legal obligation incurred due to your acts or negligence, you agree to indemnify CM Rental Cars for those losses, damages and costs.

This Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Quebec, Canada. You irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law, such invalidity or unenforceability will not affect the remainder of the Agreement, which will continue in full force and effect.

CM Rental Cars may change the terms, conditions and operation of this Agreement at any time, such modifications being effective upon posting on the Site.
